Syria, 2025. Two brothers who can’t yet go home to Raqqa and a filmmaker who no longer knows his own streets walk together through Homs, share stories about home, estrangement, and the fluid self identity through it. Down a long stretched road to an empty town, across vast empty terrain where serenity might explode when someone steps on one, as they negotiate a path to the river.

A work in progress
A 27-minute cut premiered at Eyes on IDFA as a master’s graduation work, July 2025.

A man stands by a shell-scarred pillar in front of rubble and ruined buildings.
A man in a dark jacket walks away down a narrow stone alley, out of focus.
In a crowd, a veiled woman holds up a framed portrait of an older man.
A man holds a cigarette near his face in a stone-walled café, eyes turned aside.
A moment of remembering
Two men in the front and back seats of a car at night, the dome light on.
The twin, estranged
A man reaches toward the camera inside a dark car while someone behind him films with a phone.
Agency
A tank raises dust on a track across golden wheat fields.
The steel in bare fields
A man in a shearling jacket stands on a busy street, hand on hip. The subtitle reads: Someone in-between.

A missed train to Paris becomes a night in Berlin, which becomes a New Year’s statement, which gradually becomes a thesis on memory in the German landscape. A dreamlike short, built from mixed media and images projected onto hands.

A hand with a silver ring, a sunlit courtyard with tiled floor and a tree projected across it.

Pain speaks similar accents.

A hand in the dark, a crowded bar scene projected on its fingers.
Madame Claude, around ten
Two bearded men’s faces glowing in warm light against black.
A huge dark dome on a rooftop at night, its broken ribs outlined against the city lights.
A station sign reading Emmerich am Rhein, seen blurred through a train window.
A long stretch of the Berlin Wall covered in graffiti, lit by street lamps at night.
